As a dramadirector Erik has proven his craftsmanship enormously; he can handle anything, also with limited resources. He always tries to accomplish something new, something original. Erik: 'FIlm combines everything: rythm, light/dark, emotion, drama, narration, musicality: it's all in it.' His movies are very succesful in the execution. "god is in the detail', he says. Setdressing is very important, for that works on the subconsciousness. In his commercials he uses, as in a sort of pressure cooker, all cinematographic tools in a creative manner. He doesn't avoid improvisation with that. He knows how to get everything out of his actors. 'The best movies arise when there's optimal teamwork or when there is uniqueness: a specific addition that gives more tension to it, a extraordinary style or perspective.'
